After being a member of multiply.com, I finally did it. I am not a Premium Member.

Here are the benefits…

Just $19.95 (around 1000 pesos) a year buys you

  • Higher video upload limits (200 MB or 20 minutes)
  • Unlimited storage of your full-resolution photos and videos
  • Access to full-resolution content across Multiply
  • One-click photo album downloads
  • Ad-free browsing and sharing

As most of you might already know, regular Multiply account deletes the high resolution images after 30 days and only keeps the low resolution for viewing and sharing. The Premium account removes this restriction and guarantees to store all your images in high resolution. Hurray for photo lovers like me who wants to backup all my high resolution pictures.

Another feature that really got me is the ability for me to download an entire album (my own or friends) with just one click of a button (and in .zip format too!). No more right-click-save as routines for grabbing photos from other albums… just download them all!

I guess this feature might not be for everyone. But if you are a photographer or someone who simply wants to backup your photos in the original resolution you took them. I suggest you get yourself a Premium account as well.

Google just recently introduced their new web brower… Google Chrome which is now in beta. Google also breifly explained their motivation about why they decided to venture into the web browser arena saying,

At Google, we spend much of our time working inside a browser. We search, chat, email and collaborate in a browser. And like all of you, in our spare time, we shop, bank, read news and keep in touch with friends - all using a browser. People are spending an increasing amount of time online, and they’re doing things never imagined when the web first appeared about 15 years ago.

Since we spend so much time online, we began seriously thinking about what kind of browser could exist if you started from scratch and built on the best elements out there. We realized that the web had evolved from mainly simple text pages to rich, interactive applications and that we needed to completely rethink the browser. What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications, and that’s what we set out to build.

Read more here…

I am currently using Google Chrome as I write this entry and I’m really starting to like the look and feel of this browser.

Fake Antivirus 2009 on the loose. It’s really amazing how creative malware writers can be for the purpose of distrubuting malicious softwares to your personal computers.

This application looks to be a full featured Antivirus application complete with automatic update and even has a trial version that encourages it’s users to get the full version.

Of course the main objective of this application is to “FOOL” people by indicating they are infected by a malicious file then downloads another malicious file to complete the infection of the target computer.

You can get more information and details about this Fake Antivirus in our Trend Micro Blog.

Be careful of what you download and install.

I was driving along ortigas today and noticed the new billboard-ad of Globe having the words Facebook, Friendster and Yahoo Messenger on it.

Of course for an internet addict like me, i immediately texted in the word UPD8 and sent it to 2222 as instructed. After a few minutes I got this reply.

Have you ever experienced conducting an interview for a job applicant and feel like you are out of questions or just going around in circles? For me the most basic thing you need to do an effective job interview is:

1. First ask yourself what qualities you are looking. (technical expertise, passion, creativity, communication)

2. Formulate your questions so that the applicant can express their ideas, experiences and opinions about it.

Now on to me favorite job interview questions…

I was reading the blog of my friend gadgenista and came across her post about the new camera released by Olympus!

Olympus Stylus 1050 SW

Yet another series of Shockproof and Waterproof Camera from the Olympus SW series!

It’s been a while now that I’m deciding to buy one for my outdoor and surfing pictures as well as for an evening party point and shoot camera, but i wasn’t really happy about the old design of the Stylus 1030SW model.

I’ve been surfing for more than 2 years now and one thing i noticed is that as time goes by, we have less and less photos and videos! WHY!? Because all us (TSC Crew) is in the line-up almost all at the same time, no one left on shore to take photos and videos.

I was thinking about this radical idea on how to capture us surfing without leaving a surfer behind.

I’m a Gary V Fan! There, I admit it. I still remember the very first concert I watched way back in college, it was in the La Salle football field back then, and i can still remember the amount of people that came together to watch him… now almost 15 years later…

Rebirth Concert

I always try to watch him every year as he performs in Eastwood. Some of my favorite songs are, Could you be Messiah, Gaya ng Dati, Take Me out of the Dark, Fool till the End, Warrior is a Child, Sana maulit muli.

Such a sad news! I was really looking forward for this reunion. The tribute concert a few years back “UltramagneticJam” that covered eraserhead songs was good, but having the original band members play would have been great!

I found out about this at Odyssey Live. Apparently Department of Health (DOH) refuses to issue a permit that forces them to cancel the permit. Damn!

I practically grew with Eraserhead music, my first guitar lesson was in the tune of “Pare Ko”… I can still hear myself playing the chords… G… C… Am… C… Classic!

I was looking for some cool applications for my E90 and stumbled upon Nokia Beta Labs. I found this great new application that i think has a great potential for the future. It’s called the Nokia Chat.

I believe this technology will catch on pretty quick and a lot of other provider like MSN and Yahoo would eventually release a mobile version of their product once mobile internet access becomes cheap and fixed rate like most DSL connection we have now.

Since Globe Visibility and Smart Bro is getting cheaper each day, this might not be too far away.

One scary thing about this is that the application is besides chatting the application can actually connect to your phone GPS and send your location to your friends… and also to your enemies? I can already see the new breed of malwares.

There’s actually a lot of new cool things to look forward for in the future once mobile internet gets a lot cheaper and working for a internet security company Trend Micro, I can see a lot of new opportunities in this area as well, from desktop security to mobile security and in the future probably personal security.

As technology and internet gets more personal, I believe there is a call for personal security already, if ever this time really comes, I think we will start to see a lot of “bad” people trying to hack their way into personal cellphones.

Scary? Yes! Exciting too! Can’t wait for this ERA to start.

Crystal Beach, Zambales

It’s almost been a year since I was able to surf in my first surf break at Crystal Beach Zambales. It was really nice to see the once isolated place is now picking up to be one of the most famous surf spot in Zambales.

What’s really great is with the new Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) travel time to surf in Zambales is just around 2 and 1/2 hours, almost 1 hour faster.

I’m happy to actually see Zaldo (our first surf instructor) back in his home break and still continuously and religiously teaching and showing off his surf skills.

TSC Crew with Zaldo

It was a good day trip, saw a lot of old friends, old memories and there where good waves too! Surf season is really here! Can’t wait to hit the other surf spots soon… See you guys in the line up!
